Classic Porsche 911 RSR Front Brake CalipeR
A very nice project to start off our new venture. We had the privilege of being asked to design a large front brake caliper for a Historic Porsche 911 race car. The original Calipers are very hard to come by these days and our customer desperately needed some for another new RSR build that they will do over the winter.
Mountain Bike, Hydraulic Disc Brake System
This one came as a surprise as normally our image of two wheeled vehicles includes engines. This customer comes from the world of bicycles with 60 years worth of heritage behind them. It would be fair to say that most of you would have at some point used a bike with at least one of their components on. This is a completely new direction for us but to say that we are excited about it is an understatement. This is a 'work in progress' and so far we are enjoying incorporating some Motorsport design fundamentals into this new Mountain Bike braking system.
Supercar Transmission, Gear Selector Fork
This part came to us from our partners in the UK, Endeavor Engineering Ltd. They needed a 3D scan and a new design of a Gear Selector Fork from a fairly new supercar. Apparently there is a common fault in these castings and they cannot be replaced individually if they fail. If the worst happens then the manufacturer will only replace the complete gearbox at the cost of a very nice family sized car. After our scanning and CAD work, which included a few subtle modifications, the guys at Endeavor CNC machined a beautiful new batch from Aluminium 7075. At least now there is an option to replace only the failed part and save a lot of money at the same time. If you're in the Oxfordshire area and need some first class CNC machining then have a look at http://www.endeavorengineering.co.uk/
Mountain Bike, Hydraulic Disc Brake System, Lever Assembly
Moving on from the Brake Caliper to the Brake Lever Assembly design process. This has been a really interesting project for us we're looking forward to the next stages of prototyping and manufacturing.
BMW E46 Rear Suspension Brace
Chris, from Specialised Motorsport Engineering (SME) in Cologne got in touch for some small tweaks to his Rear Suspension Brace that he manufactures and sells for the BMW E46 model. For us this was a 3D scanning exercise then some Reverse Engineering on CAD. A pretty quick process but nice to be involved with another local supplier of quality bespoke parts. Take a look at https://www.s-m-eng.com/ to see what they can offer you.
